Skill 8: Non-judgment

We usually judge people constantly without knowing it.

For instance, we say: "What a bad person." In the same way that we get upset when someone else judges us because they have not been in our shoes and do not know why we have taken a certain decision in the circumstances, others also get upset by our judgments. Hence, one of the conditions of a good relationship is to be careful not to judge anyone.

If we think they are wrong, thoughtless, or selfish, we should keep our opinion to ourselves and remember that we have not been in the same situation. We must be aware that if we are judgmental, we will close the path of communications, because the other person will get upset and they may no longer be interested in talking to us.
