Sometimes we see someone being bullied and are not sure what to do. You don’t have to be a superhero to support a friend who is being bullied. Just being an upstander can go a long way. An upstander is someone who stands up for others when they see bullying happening.
🛡️ Stay Safe
Think about how to keep yourself and the other person safe. If there is a risk of harm, move to a safer place or seek help.
🤝 Show Support
Let the person know they are not alone. Listen, check in, be kind, and include them if they are being left out.
📞 Get Help
Talk to a trusted adult or someone who can help, such as a parent, teacher, counselor, or church or community leader.
Remember: You do not have to solve the problem on your own. Even small actions can make a big difference. (Reference: Connect with Respect: Preventing gender-based violence in schools)
