Why?

Why adolescents with disabilities are at risk of unwanted pregnancy and unsafe abortion:

• Many of them are sexually active.
• Limited knowledge and skills to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.
• Lack of access to family planning methods to avoid unwanted pregnancy.
• Even those adolescents who can obtain contraceptives do not always use them correctly and consistently.
• Many of them are not able to refuse or resist coerced sex/rape.
