Depression
Depression is a common problem in adolescence.
Common symptoms may include being indifferent about everything and everyone, sometimes crying for no reason, boredom in doing daily tasks, sleep disorders, and insomnia.
You can deal with depression through:
- Increasing your connection with friends and relatives;
- Strengthening your bonds with God by doing religious work;
- Exercising and participating in group sports activities;
- Strengthening your relationship with your mother and father and talking to them about your thoughts and feelings and seeking advice.
- Seeking advice from a counsellor or other trusted adult, if you cannot talk to your parents.
You should remember that this is usually a fleeting depression and will soon return to normal. Be sure to consult a counsellor or other mental health worker if the problem persists.
