Imagine the private pics you shared with your lover going viral on every social media site and even shared on WhatsApp! That’s what happened to a Midlands University student this past month when she dumped her cheating ex.
According to a report on Hmetro, Andile Muza had tried to break up with Kudakwashe Manyuchi before, but he threatened to release the nude pictures he’d taken of her. After he promised to delete the pictures, they got back together.
But when he cheated on her a few months later, Andile decided to call it quits - and Kudakwashe shared the pics anyway!
It’s illegal to share private pictures of someone without their consent. But that doesn’t stop people from doing it! You may think you can trust your lover and that sending each other nude pics can be harmless fun or a way to show affection and love. But when things fall apart, anything can happen.
Prevention is always best when it comes to private pictures:
- Don’t send nude pics to your partner, no matter how much you trust him or her
- If you have private pics on your phone, make sure they are safe or secured with a secret password
- Report blackmailing threats to an adult you trust - or even the police - as soon as they happen
